Would give them 6 stars were six available. Serve on the Board of a condo and have relied on Colkitt to fix the poor job done by another AC contractor who installed our units and a worse job done by yet another AC contractor to 'repair' the poorly installed machines. Colkitt saved the day. They are responsive, affordable, and have the kind of knowledge, integrity, and 'can do' attitude that allows a company to provide top-notch service for 50 years. We also use Colkitt to maintain and repair the units in our 51-unit, four-story luxury condo on the beach in Indian River Shores. Many area AC firms automatically raise prices when 'crossing the bridge' to Vero Beach and Indian River Shores and most show up when they feel like it. Colkitt responds immediately and is considerably more affordable than has been my experience with other area AC contractors. Colkitt does what they say they are going to do and when they say they're going to do it. Colkitt delivers better value! Their people take pride in who they are and what they do. Hmmmmm? Our AC went out on a Friday evening—of course, the worst possible timing! I called Colkitt and spoke with a tech who walked me through what to do to get through the night. First thing the next morning, he was out to diagnose the problem and found out that the coil was bad. I decided to go ahead and replace the system with a new Trane unit, though it was a few days out. In the meantime, he added more freon to keep us comfortable. The new system install went smoothly, and the team was professional and efficient. We had a minor issue the day after the install, and they were back out within the hour to take care of it. Can't thank them enough for their responsiveness, honesty, and top-notch service. Highly recommend Colkitt Air Conditioning!

Colkitt: Timely Professional Service Jun 15, 2022

Two years ago I decided to replace my aging A/C with a newer, more efficient unit. Colkitt provided the equipment and service I wanted in a timely, professional manner. I can now say the power savings for my new unit will pay for itself in just 4 years! Amazing! My only regret is I didn't do it sooner. UPDATE: Recently I had a need for a service call and a technician came out in 24 hours; my issue was resolved. It can't get any better. UPDATE #2: Once again I needed a service call and the technician came out—solved my problem in less than an hour. Very polite service tech.

Colkitt Sheet Metal Air Conditioning Company of Vero Beach… oh, how I wish I knew about them two service companies ago. In 2017, my mom had her HVAC unit replaced by ARS. After four years, we were no longer satisfied with the level of service being provided by ARS and so we switched to Freedom Air. In November of 2022, the evaporator coil went bad and was replaced under the parts warranty. One week ago, less than 22 months later, the evaporator coil needed to be replaced again. We learned from Freedom Air that ARS had never registered the HVAC unit. If it had been registered, the evaporator coil would have been covered under the warranty. The cost of a new coil including labor would have been $6,500, so it was recommended to purchase a new HVAC. I contacted Colkitt to confirm that the evaporator coil was indeed bad, and it was. Severyn was the “go-to guy” for quotes, but he was on vacation. I spoke with Brandi (Customer Service Extraordinaire) and explained the situation, as my mom was 88 years old and needed to have air conditioning. A quote was needed right away so a new unit could be installed. By that afternoon, I received a call from Severyn, even though he was technically still on vacation. He said that he would be out at 10:30 a.m. the next day. While on the phone, I had an opportunity to ask a good portion of the questions that would have been answered the following day. It was all in an effort to save time and get a unit ordered. The Service Manager, Jeff, came along with Severyn the next day. I am honestly one of those individuals who does not like to deal with salespeople. They remind me too much of car salesmen. There always seems to be a gimmick or something shady, but I was pleasantly surprised interfacing with Severyn, who was kind, compassionate to the situation, listened, and offered a few different scenarios. I felt no pressure or swayed in any direction. After selecting a unit and learning that it was available locally, the next challenge was that the next available installation date was a week away. Severyn said that they could bring in a standalone cooler unit to keep one room cool in the interim, but unfortunately one would not be available until the following day. Later that day, we learned that the HVAC unit was going to be installed the next day! I do not know what had to change/shift in order to make this happen, but my mom and I were so happy. Essentially, in 48 hours since Severyn called on his vacation day, the HVAC unit was installed. Mike and his team arrived the next morning, and installation was complete about six hours later. Everyone knew what they had to do and did it. They did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. The guys were sensitive to my mom being hard of hearing and made sure to face her when speaking so that she could read their lips. Brandi followed up with scheduling date/time for the city inspector, warranty information/paperwork, and registering the HVAC unit so we do not find ourselves in this situation again. She also shared that a Florida law passed in July of this year indicates that whether or not a unit is registered, the manufacturer must honor the warranty. Brandi even took the time to email the article to me. All in all, we felt well supported by the Colkitt organization. The individuals we encountered at each step of the process made us feel heard, and there was a level of care. We are grateful for their swift action!

They have proven to be a reputable, respectable and honest company and have well-trained, competent technicians. Most recently Dawson did the maintenance check. He'd been to my home a few times previously and is always friendly, answers questions clearly, explains what he did during the visit, and, due to recent rains, used shoe covers when inside the house and left no mess.
